DENVER – Noe Meza of Seattle University men's soccer was named First Team All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC), as announced by the conference on Monday. Alex Acton-Petronotis, Habib Barry, and Akili Kasim were each picked Second Team All-WAC.
Meza recorded four goals and three assists in nine matches this season. The native of Sunnyside, Wash., tallied his first career hat trick in a win over Incarnate Word on Mar. 20 at Championship Field.
Acton-Petronotis, a native of College Station, Texas, was key as the Redhawks allowed just 10 goals across nine matches. He added a goal in his six games this year.
Barry put up four goals and an assist in eight appearances. The native of SeaTac, Wash., scored in four different games, as SU went 3-0-1 when Barry found the back of the net.
Kasim made eight starts in net, compiling a 1.11 goals against average with three shutouts. The Seattle native ranks ninth nationally with 4.8 saves per game (first in the WAC). His .812 save percentage is 27th in the country.
The Redhawks have earned the fifth seed in this week's WAC Tournament. They will take on fourth-seeded UNLV on Tuesday.
