EDINBURG, Texas - Seattle U men's tennis finished its WAC season on Saturday when it faced off against Grand Canyon at the Orville Cox Tennis Center in Edinburg, Texas. The Lopes came out hot and did not let up, winning in a 7-0 sweep.

Grand Canyon started the day strong by claiming the doubles point. Senior Emilio Monroy and freshman Julian Worn (6-7 (5-7)) were the closest duo to earn a victory as they fell to Mariano Argote and Justin Cvitanovic. Seniors Lucas Cerbelli and Eli Ogilvy's (2-6) four match win streak came to an end as they dropped their match to Valentin Lang and Jiri Novak, while junior Billy Givens-Jensen and freshman Mats Krause (1-6) teamed up for the first time this year against Freddie Grant and Loic Van Zeggelaar.

In singles play, Cerbelli fell to Argote in identical sets of 3-6, 3-6 while sophomore Lars Schmassmann suffered a similar fate as he fell in identical sets of 2-6, 2-6 against Novak and Monroy (3-6, 2-6) matched up against Jonathan Da Silva. Worn (1-6, 2-6) battled against Cvitanovic, while Ogilvy (0-6, 0-6) took on Lang. The final point of the match was awarded to GCU's Grant on court six as Krause had to withdraw.

The Redhawks' next match will be at the WAC Championships in Las Cruces, N.M., but the opponent and date of the match have yet to be annouced.
