Seniors Lucas Cerbelli and Eli Ogilvy did their best to keep the team win streak alive, winning their fourth straight doubles match 6-3 against Nicolas Buitrago and Jordy Visser, however, New Mexico State was just too strong as it earned the 6-1 victory.

The Aggies started the match strong by claiming the doubles point. Sophomore Lars Schmassmann and junior Billy Givens-Jensen (3-6) teamed up for the first time this season against Petr Stavrokvskij and Louis Menard, while Freshman Mats Krause and Julian Worn (1-6) matched up against opponents Martin Simecek and Corey Clarke.

In singles play, Worn (2-6, 6-2, 6-4) was responsible for the lone team point as he defeated Simecek after dropping the first set. Cerbelli (3-6, 6-0, 1-0 (10-3) was the next closet Redhawk to victory as he started off strong against Buitrago but could not continue that momentum in the second set. Senior Emilio Monroy matched up against Clarke, falling 4-6, 4-2, while Krause suffered the same result against Stravrovskij. Rounding out the singles matches were Schmassmann (1-6, 3-6) and Ogilvy (6-7, 2-6) who battled against their respective opponents Visser and Menard.

The Redhawks will wrap up their regular season schedule on Saturday with a matchup against Grand Canyon at 11 a.m. at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.
