DENVER – Ava Benedetti of Seattle University women's soccer has been picked Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Offensive Player of the Week, for the period ending on Apr. 4. The sophomore scored four goals across two home wins this weekend.
Benedetti, a native of Happy Valley, Ore., put up two goals apiece in SU's pair of victories over NM State on Apr. 1-3. On Thursday, she socred in the 14th minute and again in the 76th as SU won, 3-0.
On senior day at Championship Field, Benedetti made sure she sent the seniors out with a win, scoring the first goals of the match in the 47th and 61st minutes in a 3-2 victory.
Benedetti has scored seven goals in 15 starts this season. She ranks second on the team in goals and points (16).
SU heads to California Baptist for its regular-season finale on Friday, Apr. 9. With a win, the Redhawks would secure at least a share of the WAC regular-season crown.
