DENVER - Bailey Thompson of Seattle University softball has been named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Hitter of the Week, for the period ending on Mar. 28. Thompson batted .500 and hit three home runs in the Redhawks' series win over NM State last weekend.
Thompson, a Tucson, Ariz., native, went 5-10 at the plate in SU's three-game series with the Aggies at Logan Field. In the first game of the weekend, Thompson homered twice and drove in four runs as the Redhawks won, 6-4. She followed with a two-hit, two-RBI, effort in the nightcap as SU won, 4-1. Thompson capped her weekend with a solo homer on Saturday.
The catcher paces Seattle U with seven doubles, six home runs, 31 RBIs, a .612 slugging percentage, and seven HBPs this season.
The Redhawks are off this weekend and will return to WAC play at Utah Valley on Apr. 9-10.
