OREM, Utah – Seattle University women's soccer settled for a 2-2 tie in double overtime at Utah Valley Thursday afternoon. Sydney Carr and Emily Bunnell scored in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) match at Clyde Field.

The defenses got the better of the first half, as neither attack gained much traction in rainy conditions. In the 36th minute, SU put together a stellar build-up to get on the board. Kelsey Crosby rushed downfield and dished to Paige Malm on the right wing. She carried the ball all the way to the end line and then crossed a pass into the box, where Carr backpedaled and got her head on a shot that found the back of the net. The goal marked Carr's 14th of the season, most in the country.

In the second period, Carr continued to dismantle the UVU backline. The junior dribbled forward and was taken down, drawing a foul to set up a penalty kick try. Bunnell stepped to the spot and connected on a shot to make it 2-0 in the 54th minute.

The hosts scored to halve the margin in the 69th minute. UVU pressed the SU defense and eventually found a tying goal in the 89th minute, forcing overtime.

In the first extra session, the home side controlled the majority of possession and Madison Waguespack came up with a save to push the match to its final frame.

Carr nearly hustled her way into a winner in the second OT, but the Wolverines held on and the teams closed out the contest deadlocked.

Seattle U and UVU have played three straight OT games, dating back to 2019.

The teams will meet again on Saturday, with kickoff scheduled for 11 a.m. Pacific (noon Mountain) in Orem.
