DENVER – Brooke Milder and Stefanie Madrigal of Seattle University softball have been named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for the period ending on March 7.
Milder was tremendous in SU's play at the Boyd Gaming Classic, going 9-10 at the plate with a double, three runs, two RBIs, and two walks. She went 4-4 with an RBI and a run against UNLV on Mar. 6 and then followed with a three-hit showing against Idaho State on Mar. 7.
Madrigal won twice over the weekend, shutting down a potent UNLV offense in a win on Mar. 5. She pitched 5.2 innings and struck out a career-high eight batters while allowing just one run in the victory. She threw a five-inning complete game to top Idaho State on Mar. 6, shutting out the Bengals and giving up three hits.
Seattle U will play at the Husky Invitational, hosted by UW, this weekend.
