DENVER – Akili Kasim of Seattle University men's soccer has been chosen Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Defensive Player of the Week, for the period ending on March 7.

Kasim, a West Seattle native, posted seven saves in a 2-0 shutout at Dixie State on Mar. 6. He claimed a pair of stops, including a terrific diving deflection, in the first half and followed with a five-save second period for his second clean sheet of the year.

This marks Kasim's second WAC weekly honor of the season.

The Redhawks will play at No. 7 Washington on Wednesday. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. at UW's Husky Soccer Stadium.
