PHOENIX, Ariz. – Seattle University women's basketball fell, 90-43, at Grand Canyon on Friday evening. Georgia Kehoe led the Redhawks with 11 points and four rebounds in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) game at GCU Arena.

Facing GCU's variety of pressure, SU (11-10, 6-5 WAC) fell behind early and never caught up. The hosts led, 14-0, with 5:50 left in the first period. Bree Calhoun made a steal and set up a Georgia Kehoe layup to get the Redhawks on the board with 4:10 remaining. GCU scored the next five points before Irena Korolenko hit a three-pointer and Kehoe finished a putback. The Lopes scored in the final seconds to grab a 21-7 advantage after a quarter.

Grand Canyon looked to pull away in the second, but a Chinwe Ezeonu free throw and a Kehoe putback made it 28-10. GCU eventually grabbed a 25-point lead, but a Calhoun layup and a Peyton Howard trey cut the deficit. Calhoun swished a three to get closer before the Lopes closed the half strongly. A late bucket gave the home side a 41-20 halftime lead.

Korolenko made a three and Kehoe scored inside to start the second half on the right foot, but GCU responded with a 13-0 run to regain control. A Howard triple kept SU moving, but the Lopes poured it on and held a 67-33 margin with 10 minutes to play.

Ramona Jagger sank two foul shots early in the fourth and Calhoun stole the ball and went in for a layup. Makenna Schoenhofer scored in the lane and Erin Tarasow split two foul shots midway through the frame. Schoenhofer and Jagger both made free throws later in the period as the Lopes came away with the decision.

Kehoe paced SU with 11 points and four rebounds. Calhoun tallied eight points and two steals. Hailey Vice-Neat blocked three shots in the first half.

The teams will meet again tomorrow in Phoenix. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. Pacific (6 p.m. Mountain) at GCU Arena.
