LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The Western Athletic Conference Men's Swim Championships continued on Thursday at the Buchanan Natatorium in Las Vegas, Nev. Seattle U ended the day with 87 points and sixth in the overall standings.
The Redhawks had three swimmers qualify for the evening session of the 500 freestyle. In the C-Final, junior Juan Varela (4:40.70) placed fourth while sophomore Justin Kalugin (4:44.69) was sixth. Finishing fifth in the B-FInal was freshmen Michael Luna who headlined the trio with a time of 4:36.19.
Also competing in a B-Final was sophomore Will Corona who took fourth in the 200 IM, as he touched the wall at 1:49.83.
In team action, the quartet of Isaac Parker (20.87), Emmett Moore (21.04), Noa Copp (20.83) and Tyler Goodspeed (20.31) placed sixth in the 200 freestyle relay as they swam a combined time of 1:23.05.
The WAC Championships will resume Friday morning with prelims at 11 am PT before returning for finals beginning at 6 pm PT. The prelims will be streamed on the WAC Digital Network (WDN) and on the WAC Sports Facebook page, while the evening session will be available on ESPN+ in the United States and WDN internationally.
