NEWS AND NOTES
• With two weeks left in the regular season, SU finds itself in a three-way tie for second place in the WAC standings. Seattle U, GCU, and Utah Valley are each 6-4 in league play. California Baptist has clinched the regular-season WAC title and the top seed at the 2021 WAC Tournament. The Redhawks could secure a top-three spot in the tournament with two wins this weekend.
• Seattle U beat UTRGV, 71-64 in overtime, at the Redhawk Center on Feb. 20. Bree Calhoun recorded 20 points, a career-high 11 rebounds, six assists, and four steals in the win. She tallied four points and a pair of assists in OT. McKenzi Williams scored 21 points.
• On Feb. 19, UTRGV claimed an 84-74 decision at the Redhawk Center. Bree Calhoun led SU with 23 points, 10 assists, and four steals.
• Junior Bree Calhoun ranks third nationally in steals with 70 and sixth in assists with 122 entering this weekend.
• The Redhawks took split with New Mexico State on Feb. 12-13 in El Paso, Texas. SU won, 76-69, on Feb. 13, as four player scored in double figures. The Redhawks closed the game on a 14-7 run to win for the sixth time in seven tries. NM State won, 64-49, in the weekend opener.
• Seattle U beat Northwest, 82-59, on Feb. 6 at the Redhawk Center. Four Redhawks scored in double figures as SU grabbed a 22-2 lead in the first period and went on to extend their win streak to five games. Irena Korolenko scored a career-high 15 points, making five three-pointers, including three in the first quarter.
• The Redhawks went to Chicago State and won twice on Jan. 29-30. In the second contest of the weekend, SU rolled to a 64-39 victory. McKenzi Williams scored 15 points to lead the offense, while the defense forced 26 turnovers and matched a season-best by allowing 39 points. On Friday, SU rallied for a 70-57 win, as Georgia Kehoe led with 18 points, five rebounds, three blocks, and two steals.
Georgia Kehoe was named WAC Player of the Week for the period ending on Jan. 31. The sophomore filled the stat sheet at Chicago State, averaging 14 points, six rebounds, 2.5 blocks, two assists, and two steals per game.
• Seattle U swept Tarleton State on its first home WAC weekend on Jan. 22-23. On Friday, SU won, 86-54, shooting 56.1 percent from the field. Five Redhawks scored in double figures, led by McKenzi Williams with 20 points. Bree Calhoun posted 14 points and eight assists.
• SU followed with a 59-47 victory over Tarleton on Jan. 23. It held the Texans to 23.6 percent field-goal shooting, including 2-16 accuracy in the fourth period. The Redhawks contained Tarleton to single-digit points in three quarters in the win.
• The Redhawks fell twice at Utah Valley to open WAC action on Jan. 15-16. McKenzi Williams scored 20 points in the second game to lead SU.
• SU beat Saint Martin's, 80-69, on Jan. 8. McKenzi Williams led the Redhawks with 19 points as four players scored in double figures.
McKenzi Williams scored a Division I-program-record 36 points in SU's 105-96 loss at Idaho on Dec. 21. The junior guard hit 14-26 field goals, including 5-7 from long range. Williams scored at least eight points in all four periods to top Joana Alves' previous school record of 34 points. 
• Seattle U scored 32 points in the first quarter, marking its most in a period since Jan. 24, 2019, when the Redhawks dropped 32 on Chicago State in the first frame.
• The 56 first-half points were the most by SU against a Division I foe in the Coach Suzy Barcomb era and the most since Dec. 4, 2013, when the Redhawks scored 56 points in the second half against Oregon.
• SU led from start to finish on its way to a 77-65 win at Eastern Washington on Dec. 19. Georgia Kehoe led four Redhawks in double figures with 19 points on 5-5 field-goal shooting and 9-9 foul shooting.
• The Redhawks shot 16-16 at the free-throw line in the win at EWU. It marks the most free throws made without a miss in SU's Division I program history.
• Seattle U fell behind early and could not quite catch up to Montana in a 61-55 loss on Dec. 15. Bree Calhoun scored a career-high 23 points in the game, including 14 in the third period. The point total is the most by a Redhawk in a single frame since Kamira Sanders put up 14 at Northern Arizona on Nov. 16, 2019.
• The Redhawks put together a record-setting performance in a 106-39 win over Northwest on Dec. 10. SU set a Division I program record with 106 points and tied D1 program records with 15 made three-pointers and 29 assists.
• In the win over Northwest, 13 Redhawks scored, led by four in double figures. SU has had four double-digit scorers in four of five games this season.
• Seattle U hung with Portland for three periods on Dec. 6, but the Pilots pulled away in the fourth for an 80-68 win at the Chiles Center. Four Redhawks scored in double figures, paced by McKenzi Williams with 18 points. Chinwe Ezeonu added eight points and 10 rebounds off the bench.
• The Redhawks beat Utah State, 75-72 in overtime, on Dec. 3 at the Redhawk Center. Maddy Phillips made a tying three-pointer with 11 seconds left to force OT and then Bree Calhoun sank a trey late in the extra frame to put SU ahead for good. The Seattle U defense held the Aggies scoreless for the final 3:32 of action in OT.
• SU pulled down 66 rebounds, including 24 offensive boards, in the win over Utah State. The total is the third-most nationally in a game this season and the most by a Seattle U team since Dec. 17, 2010 (71 at CSUN). McKenzi Williams led the group effort with a career-high 13 rebounds, while Chinwe Ezeonu and Hailey Vice-Neat both tallied 11 boards on the day.
• Seattle U shot 25-32 at the free-throw line while beating the Aggies. The 25 made foul shots are the most by a Redhawk team since Jan. 2, 2016 (29 vs. CSU Bakersfield).
Courtney Murphy and Georgia Kehoe made their season debuts on Dec. 3, as both made an impact off the bench. Murphy scored 15 points, while Kehoe put up 13 points and four steals.
• Portland is 1-1 after losing to No. 10 Oregon, 85-52, on Nov. 30. Alex Fowler led the Pilots with 12 points and four rebounds.
• Seattle U fell at No. 10 Oregon, 116-51, on Nov. 28. McKenzi Williams tied her career high with 20 points, making 9-11 free throws on the day.
• SU opened the 2020-21 season with an 82-70 loss to Portland on Nov. 25. Four Redhawks scored in double figures, led by McKenzi Williams. Williams matched her career high with 20 points, as the junior made 12-14 free throws in the contest.
Bree Calhoun made her SU debut and tallied 11 points, seven steals, and six assists in 20 minutes of play. Maddy Phillips scored a career-high 11 points in her first career start. Chinwe Ezeonu put up 12 points and seven rebounds for the Redhawks.
• Seattle U was voted to finish fifth in the WAC Preseason Coaches' Poll and sixth in the WAC Media Preseason Poll. It finished eighth in the 2019-20 regular season standings.
• Junior Courtney Murphy was picked Preseason All-WAC by coaches and media, while redshirt junior McKenzi Williams earned Preseason All-WAC honors from the coaches. Murphy is the WAC's active leader with 114 made three-pointers in her first two seasons at SU. Williams is the lone active WAC player to start an NCAA Tournament game (at Oregon in 2018).
• Coach Suzy Barcomb is in her fifth season at Seattle U, making the longest-tenured head coach in the WAC. She is one of two active NCAA coaches to have taken a team to the NCAA Tournament in all three division levels. NC State's Wes Moore is the only other coach to accomplish the feat.
• The Redhawks are 6-2 under Coach Suzy Barcomb in the WAC Tournament. They advanced to the semifinals before having the tournament canceled in 2020, lost in the first round in 2019, won the tournament title in 2018, and advanced to the finals in 2017.
• SU features three international players on this year's roster, with each coming from Australia (Georgia Kehoe, Courtney Murphy, Maddy Phillips).
