DENVER – Ally Choate of Seattle University softball has been named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Hitter of the Week, for the period ending on February 21. The senior led the Redhawks to a 4-1 weekend at the Hillenbrand Invitational in Tucson, Arizona.
Choate went 10-15 in five games over the weekend, collecting two hits in each contest. The rightfielder went 2-3 with two RBIs, two runs, sacrifice fly, and a walk in a win over Southern Utah on Saturday. Choate drove in a run in three other outings and scored six runs over the five games.
The native of Yelm, Wash., is hitting .517 with seven runs and five RBIs in 10 games this season.
Seattle U (4-6) will play in the Wildcat Invitational this coming weekend, with action starting in Tucson on Thursday morning.
