LA QUINTA, Calif. – Seattle U men's golf completed its first individual event of the 2021 season on Wednesday at The Prestige Individual Invitational in La Quinta, Calif., Colorado State's AJ Ott and Pepperdine's Derek Hitchner tied for first place with a shot total of 12-under 204. The three day event took place at Coral Mountain Golf Club in La Quinta, Calif. on the 7,145 yards course with a par of 72.
Leading the way for the Redhawks was junior Nathan Cogswell who demonstrated great consistency but tied for 23rd at even-par 216 (71-73-72). Behind Cogswell, was senior Gabe Spach (77-70-73) who had a strong second day after a slow start to the event. Junior Jack Rahon (77-74-70) improved each round, while freshman Blake Kukula (75-71-77) finished two strokes behind him. Rounding out the team was junior Federico Gutierrez, finishing with a three-round total of 225 (72-73-80).
Seattle U looks forward to having a couple free days in Palm Desert, Calif., before they take part in the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, held from Feb. 19-21.
