SEATTLE — After a 345-day hiatus, Seattle U baseball returns! The Redhawks are slated to open the 2021 campaign on Friday, Feb. 19 against the Portland. First pitch from the Rose City is scheduled for 12 pm. The balance of the four-game series will continue with a 12 pm doubleheader on Saturday, and conclude with a 1 pm start on Sunday.

OPENING DAY FACTS
This is the Redhawks 12th opening day since the program's rebirth in 2010 ... Under head coach Donny Harrel, the team 5-6 in season openers and 2-4 when beginning the year on the road ... The largest margin of victory for Seattle U in the season's first game is 10 runs, set on Feb. 13, 2015 vs Saint Mary's ... The largest defeat was recorded last year against Creighton ... This is the second time since 2010 the program has opened the season on Feb. 19, the last time was during the 2016, which also on the road — Seattle U fell to Saint Mary's, 10-5.

ABOUT PORTLAND
The Pilots finished the shortened 2020 season with a 12-4 record, which included a 10-1 mark at home ... Since 2018, Portland is 34-26 record at home and 60-41 overall during that same stretch ... Portland's roster this season is headlined by four All-WCC selections and features 11 upperclassmen ... The team is lead by head coach Geoff Loomis who is in sixth season with program.
