DENVER - Akili Kasim of Seattle University men's soccer has been named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Defensive Player of the Week, for the period ending Feb. 14. Kasim made five saves in a shutout win at Houston Baptist on Saturday.
Kasim, a junior out of West Seattle, tallied one save in the first half at HBU and then made four more stops in the second frame. He paces the WAC with 16 saves through three games this year.
Kasim now has 11 career shutouts in his SU career. This marks his second WAC weekly honor in his Redhawk tenure.
