Men's Tennis Opens in Spokane

SEATTLE - Seattle U men's tennis gets back on the court for its first competitive match since March of 2020, traveling to Spokane Saturday to take on Gonzaga. This year's team will be lead by first-year head coach Kristina Hollander, as she takes over the reigns of the Redhawk programs after two successful seasons as an assistant coach with San Jose State University.

SEATTLE - Seattle U men's tennis gets back on the court for its first competitive match since March of 2020, traveling to Spokane Saturday to take on Gonzaga at 11 a.m. This year's team will be lead by first-year head coach Kristina Hollander, as she takes over the reigns of the Redhawk programs after two successful seasons as an assistant coach with San Jose State University.

The Redhawks introduce four newcomers, including experienced graduate transfers Eli Ogilvy and Lucas Cerbelli. Ogilvy joins the Redhawks from the University of Minnesota (2016-20), where he was an academic All-Big Ten selection (2019-20), was named an ITA Men's Tennis Scholar-Athlete (2018-19) and won more than 50 singles and doubles matches. Cerbelli joins from Wofford College (2016-20), where he was Second Team All-Conference (2017-18) and SoCon All-Freshman Team (2016-17). 

Rounding out the newcomers are talented freshman Mats Krause and Julian Worn. Krause hails from Bad Soden am Taunus, Germany, where he was a state champion in U18 and was team captain (2020) for his club team Eintracht Frankfurt. Worn also joins the Redhawks from club team Eintracht Frankfurt, where he and Krause played together since U14. He was a team captain (2015-20), men's state team champion (2019), and U18 state team champion. 

Traveling with the team this weekend will be seniors Eli Ogilvy, Lucas Cerbelli and Emilio Monroy, junior Billy Givens-Jensen, sophomore Lars Schmassmann, and freshman Julian Worn and Mats Krause.
