SEATTLE – Seattle University men's soccer has announced its non-conference schedule for 2021. It will feature five regular-season matches, including a date at the University of Washington in March.
In accordance with state and local regulations and in the interest of public health, the season will begin without spectators in attendance at Championship Field.
For the health and safety of participating student-athletes, staff and game personnel, access will be permitted only to participating teams and essential workers.
Health and safety guidelines will be monitored on an ongoing basis to determine if limited capacity options become available at any point during the season.
Coach Pete Fewing begins his 27th season at SU. In 2019, he guided the Redhawks to a tremendous season that included an unbeaten run through the WAC, and a win at Loyola Marymount in the NCAA Tournament. Seattle U enters the new campaign with the nation's longest active unbeaten streak at 16 matches.
SU knocked off Gonzaga, 3-1, in an exhibition on Saturday in Yakima, Wash. The Redhawks play another exhibition on Thursday, Jan. 28, at Seattle Pacific.
Seattle U will then host the Zags in their regular-season opener on Feb. 3, with kickoff slated for 5 p.m. at Championship Field. SU follows with a pair of WAC contests before welcoming Portland for a 6 p.m. contest on Feb. 20.
After facing UNLV in a league game, SU travels to Oregon State on Mar. 3. As part of a four-game road trip, the Redhawks play at UW on Mar. 10. They then take on the Pilots again, this time in Portland on Mar. 17.
