DENVER – Senior Michelle Newblom has been named the Western Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for Feb. 17-23, the WAC announced on Tuesday.
Newblom broke her own school record in the 60m hurdles for the second time this year at the Last Chance College Elite Meet on Friday, Feb. 21, posting a time of 8.86. This is Newblom's second career WAC weekly honor.
"Michelle works so hard – she really deserves this," said Head Coach Kelly Sullivan.
Newblom and the Redhawks will compete in the WAC Indoor Track and Field Championships in Nampa, Idaho, on Feb. 28-29.
