SEATTLE — Seattle University baseball added experience to the pitching staff with the late addition of graduate transfer, Lucas Ford.

A native of the Emerald City, Ford returns home to join the Redhawks after two seasons with Charleston Southern. During his time with the Buccaneers, the 6-foot-2 righty, appeared in four games and posted a stat line that included no runs against, no walks, one hit and four strikeouts in 3.2 innings of work with opponents batting .083.

"We are excited to have Lucas on our team as he brings experience and age to our pitching staff," said Seattle U pitching coach Greg Goetz. "He has a sinker that will roll a lot of ground balls, which is complimented with a slider that can make him very tough on both sides of the plate. He will be a great asset to the staff."

Prior to CSU, Ford played two seasons at Edmonds CC, tossing 33.2 innings in 25 career appearances. Along the way he registered a 2-0 record, 16 saves and 19 strikeouts, while logging a 0.80 career ERA. Working as a closer, Ford also garnered All-Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) honors.

A two-time varsity letterwinner at Ballard HS, Ford helped the team to a Metro playoff appearance in 2015, before graduating from The Northwest School.

Ford is working to obtain his Master's degree in the area of Social and Human Science.
