SEATTLE – Under the recently released restructured format for the 2020-21 season, Seattle U's Western Athletic Conference schedule has been announced. The Redhawks will begin league play on Friday, Jan. 15 and conclude Saturday, March 6, prior to heading to the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas for the 2021 WAC Tournament.
"This schedule took a lot of effort from many different people with many different perspectives and expertise," said Head Coach Jim Hayford. "We are grateful to be playing basketball and thank everyone for their hard work."
With the scheduling featuring back-to-back games on Fridays and Saturdays against the same opponent at the same site each week, Seattle U tips things off hosting Utah Valley on Jan. 15 and Jan. 16.
The Redhawks will then hit the road Jan. 22 and 23 to face one of the WAC's two newest members, Tarleton State.
A return to Seattle the following week has SU hosting Chicago State on Jan. 29 and 30. The Redhawks will also host NM State (Feb. 12 and 13) and Grand Canyon (Feb. 26 and 27).
Seattle U will travel to the second of two new conference foes, Dixie State, on Feb. 5 and 6, UTRGV on Feb. 19 and 20 and finish the regular season at California Baptist on Mar. 5 and 6.
The WAC Tournament is slated for March 11-13 in Las Vegas.
The 2020-21 NCAA DI basketball season officially begins Wednesday, Nov. 25. The Redhawks expect to unveil the non-conference portion of their schedule in the coming week.
