SEATTLE – Seattle University Athletics unveiled a complete renovation to its men's basketball office and team space, the latest completed element of the Athletics & Recreation Facilities Master Plan.

The main priorities of the renovation project were to create a welcoming environment that prioritizes team-gathering space, improve access to coaches, support staff and other essential resources, and be a valuable asset in the program's recruiting, retention and competitiveness.

Key elements of the renovation included the addition of team meal, player lounge and academic meeting spaces. In addition, all coaches' offices and team film room were updated with windows to create an open environment and the latest technology for film review.

"Our players are very excited about the enhanced facilities and larger team spaces," said Head Coach Jim Hayford. "I am certain this investment in our men's basketball program will help our staff in their efficiency and productiveness. We are grateful and excited that the project turned out so well."

The space improves functionality, accessibility and community, which all support the student-athlete experience. Updated graphics and furniture align with current branding. The project was financed through external funds and the generosity of multiple donors.

Other recent Athletics & Recreation Facility Master Plan projects have included the Athletic Training Office remodel, Bannerwood Park batting cages and bullpen and the Redhawk Activity Court (RAC). Upcoming projects include renovation of the South Court practice facility, Bannerwood Park baseball team room and the women's soccer and women's basketball office suites.
