SEATTLE – Seattle University softball head coach Geoff Hirai has hired Izzy Geronimo as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2021 season. Geromino was a standout student-athlete for the Redhawks from 2013-2016.

"Izzy will add energy to our program," said Hirai. "She will focus on helping our outfielders, along with hitting and conditioning. We're proud to have a Redhawk great on our staff."

Geronimo was a four-time All-WAC First Team selection at SU. She ranks in the top 10 all-time in 14 different statistical categories at Seattle U. Geronimo earned her Master's degree in sports business leadership from Seattle U in 2019. She has also worked with the Seattle Storm as a marketing and promotions assistant and as a program coordinator with Girls on the Run.

Seattle U had its 2020 season canceled on March 12 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Hirai returns 18 players for the upcoming season, including all four members of the senior class. SU remains the defending WAC Tournament Champions going into 2021.
