SEATTLE – Seattle University women's basketball product Olivia Crawford has signed with Vestri, a team in Iceland, for her first professional contract. The Lakewood native will head overseas to begin her season in Iceland's first division this fall.

Crawford played the last two years at SU. The guard started 46 games as a Redhawk, ranking second on the team in assists and steals. Crawford was a strong defender who often covered the opposition's top perimeter scorer.

"Olivia is so deserving of this opportunity to continue her basketball career," said SU Head Coach Suzy Barcomb. "I feel blessed she was part of our program and gave so much of herself to the team. Her leadership is outstanding and she will always be part of Seattle U women's basketball."

"I am extremely excited to be continuing my career with a coach that is looking for a strong leader," said Crawford. "Being a great all-around person as well as an athlete is what takes you far."

Crawford joins classmate Joana Alves, who signed in Spain this summer, and Jacinta Beckley, who is playing in Australia, as Redhawks to currently play professionally.
