SEATTLE – Seattle University men's basketball alums Mattia Da Campo and Richaud Gittens have both signed professional contracts to continue their playing careers in Europe in 2020-21.

"Mattia and Richaud will be great teammates to their respective clubs," said Head Coach Jim Hayford of his alumni duo. "Both of these men are people who put the team first and lead with amazing effort. I am excited they are both continuing their professional careers."

Da Campo, a 2020 Seattle U graduate and native of Venice, Italy, has signed with Bergamo Basket 2014, a club based in Bergamo, Italy, that competes in the Italy Series A2.

A four-year member of the Redhawk squad, Da Campo averaged 6.1 points and 4.4 rebounds while shooting 42.3 percent from the field during his senior season. The Mathematics major was also a two-time WAC All-Academic honoree, two-time NABC Honors Court recipient and Seattle U's 2019-20 International Student of the Year.

Gittens will begin his professional career with Futebol Clube Barreirense in Portugal. The club competes in Portugal's LPB league.

A member of Hayford's first Redhawks' squad in 2017-18, Gittens averaged 10.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game. He was one of five players to average double-figures for SU, which won 20 games that year. The Boston, Mass., native played his first three collegiate seasons at Weber State.
