KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the third consecutive year under Head Coach Jim Hayford, Seattle University men's basketball has earned the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award.
These awards recognize outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2019-20 season.
The Redhawks' team GPA was above 3.2 each of the three quarters during the 2019-20 academic year, including closing out the final term with a 3.394 team GPA.
Mattia Da Campo, Anand Hundal, Aaron Nettles and Morgan Means were all been named to the NABC Honors Court, announced Wednesday, while Da Campo, Jordan Dallas, Rip Economou, Hundal and Means all earned Western Athletic Conference All-Academic honors this past year.
Seattle U was one of four WAC programs to make the list along with outgoing members CSU Bakersfield and Kansas City. Incoming member Dixie State was also honored.
In order to earn a NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, institutions in the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA must count the grade point averages of all student-athletes who competed during the 2019-20 season.
