SEATTLE — Seattle University men's and women's swimming held its annual banquet last Saturday, while adhering to social distance guidelines amid the novel Coronavirus, COVID-19, pandemic.

"Saturday night we had an online virtual team banquet and it was a great deal of fun," said head coach Craig Nisgor. "It was exciting to get a chance to see everyone's faces and go over another successful season. We were also able to hand out our team awards and honor our seniors and the four incredible years that they have been a part of our team. Their leadership and guidance has helped this team make it through the tough times and come out stronger on the other side. It has been a great honor not only to work with them but to get to know them through the years."

The evening was hosted by Nisgor and saw over 60 participants came together to be part of a Zoom call.

Nisgor and the Redhawks then celebrated the year's seniors which included Luke Christensen, Shawn Fujii, Julia Gorman, Darian Himes, Greg Raper, Alex Roderick, Ryan Shaw, Margaux Thompson, Jayna Van Stone and Zach Zenteno.

The evening was highlighted by the announcement of team accolades. On the men's side, freshman Emmett Moore was named Most Improved, while Raper was acknowledged as the Most Valuable Swimmer; both awards were voted on by their teammates. Zenteno was then recognized as this year's recipient of the Coaches' Award.

On the women's side, freshman Tessa Oliver was named Most Improved, while freshman Danika Himes and Van Stone were named Co-Most Valuable Swimmer by their teammates. Sophomore Marissa Chan was then named the Coaches' Award recipient.

The night then ended with a video tribute by junior Jack Neton.
