DENVER – The Western Athletic Conference announced on Tuesday that they have selected Seattle U's Nathan Pixler as the WAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week for Feb. 17-23. This is Pixler's second career WAC weekly award.
Pixler broke his own school record in the indoor 800m run at the Last Chance College Elite Meet on Friday, Feb. 21, with a time of 1:52.39 in a race that Assistant Coach Chad Pharis called "special."
"I'm very proud of Nathan," said Head Coach Kelly Sullivan. "I am excited to see how he builds upon this momentum heading into the conference championships."
Pixler and the Redhawks are set to compete in the WAC Indoor Track and Field Championships in Nampa, Idaho, on Feb. 28-29.
