SEATTLE – Riding a big 95-89 win over Grand Canyon into the weekend, Seattle University men's basketball continues its homestand on Saturday, Feb. 22, hosting CSU Bakersfield in another key Western Athletic Conference match-up. The Redhawks (13-14, 6-6 WAC) and 'Runners (11-16, 5-7 WAC) tip off at 7 p.m. in the Redhawk Center. The game will stream live on the WAC Digital Network at wacdigitalnetwork.com. ABOUT THE SERIES VS CSU BAKERSFIELD
This will be the 23rd meeting all-time between Seattle U and CSU Bakersfield, with the Roadrunners holding a 14-8 series advantage. The Redhawks won this season's first meeting, 86-79, on Jan. 25, 2020 in Bakersfield. Four Redhawks scored in double figures, paced by Terrell Brown's 21 points. Morgan Means added 19 points, Mattia Da Campo had 14 and Riley Grigsby chipped in 13.

The teams split the home-and-home series in each of the past two seasons, each winning on their own court. The teams opened 2018-19 WAC play on Jan. 3, 2019 going head-to-head in Bakersfield. The 'Runners would hold on for an 83-71 victory in that meeting. The Redhawks returned the favor on March 7, 2019 in Seattle, claiming a 63-57 overtime victory in the final weekend of league play. Four Redhawks scored in double figured that night, including Delante Jones (15), Morgan Means (14), Mattia Da Campo (13) and Terrell Brown (11). The Redhawks snapped a five-game CSUB win streak with a 59-55 victory over the 'Runners on Jan 26, 2018 at KeyArena. CSUB returned the favor with a 64-57 win in the Icardo Center on Feb. 24, 2018. CSU Bakersfield won the first three games of the series before Seattle U took the next four contests. The 'Runners won the following four games between the two teams. The Redhawks snapped CSUB's four-game winning streak with a 53-43 win at KeyArena Feb. 28, 2015.

  • The team's 31 made field goals against GCU is the third most made in a game this season and the most against a DI opponent.
  • The team's 22 made free throws marks the 8th time this season the Redhawks have surpassed 20 made free throws.

NEWEST 1,000-POINT CLUB MEMBER
Redshirt junior Terrell Brown joined the 1,000-point club on Thursday with his 25th point of the night. He went on to finish with 31 points, giving him 1,006 career points at Seattle U. Brown follows Morgan Means as just the fourth player in the program's modern-day DI era. He also achieved the feat in just 59 games, the second fastest to the 1,000-point marker behind Isiah Umipig, who did it in 57 games.

GETTING TO THE STRIPE
Seattle U's free-throw shooting has been a high-mark of the season as the Redhawks are 471-613 from the stripe, hitting at a 76.8 percent clip. That mark is second in the WAC and ranks 23rd in the nation in games played through Feb. 20. They also rank 6th in total makes and 20th in attempts. The team percentage is a marked improvement from one year ago when the Redhawks finished the season shooting 71.6 percent from the line. Morgan Means is among the top individual free-throw shooters in the nation, ranking 15th in games played through Feb. 20 with an 89.1 percentage (82-92) from the stripe.

PROTECT THE ROCK
Seattle U averages a WAC-low 10.6 giveaways per game, which also keeps pace among the nation's best. The Redhawks' mark ranks 10th among all NCAA DI teams in games played through Feb. 20.

DISHING HIS WAY INTO THE RECORD BOOK
Terrell Brown matched a career high with 10 assists in the Redhawks last game (Feb. 20 vs. Grand Canyon), bringing his season total to 134 and counting. The redshirt junior totaled 150 assists during his first season with the program in 2018-19. His current career total of 284 breaks him into the Seattle U all-time top-10 list at No. 10. Sitting in ninth is Mike Cheatham (1990-92) with 285 career assists. The all-time record holder is Dave Anderson (1981-85) with 619.

TERRELL ON A TEAR
Terrell Brown leads Seattle U in scoring (20.1 ppg), is second in rebounds (6.2 rpg) and first in assists (5.0 apg). His ppg average also leads the WAC and ranks 27th in the country in games played through Feb. 20. Brown also ranks 12th in the country in total field goals and 18th in total points. He has lead the Redhawks in scoring in 21 of 27 games, has tallied 14 20+ point outings, has three times scored over 30 points and has a team-high five double-doubles. He has come within striking distance of a triple-double multiple times, most recently finishing with 31 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists against Grand Canyon on Feb. 20.

1,000 POINT CLUB
Morgan Means scored seven points on Nov. 26 versus Western Michigan, giving him exactly 1,000 for his career. Most recently, the senior guard scored 11 points (Feb. 20 vs. Grand Canyon), bringing his current career total to 1,255. Means is the third Seattle U player to reach the 1,000-point mark in the modern DI era. Aaron Broussard (2009-12) finished his career with 1,271 while Isiah Umipig (2013-15) scored 1,164 career points.
