ABOUT THE SERIES VS UTRGV
Seattle U and UTRGV, formerly known as Texas Pan American, have 15 previous meetings with the Redhawks holding a 11-4 edge in the series. The Redhawks won the season's first meeting handily, running away with a 91-74 win at the Redhawk Center on Jan. 16. Five players scored in double figures, paced by Morgan Means with 22. Myles Carter collected a bit 17-point, 11-rebound double-double. The Redhawks hit 13 threes in the game, their second highest mark of the season. UTRGV swept the home-and-home series in 2018-19, winning 67-62 in the Redhawk Center on Jan. 12, 2019 and 59-44 in Texas on Feb. 14, 2019. Seattle U earned a three-game sweep during the 2017-18 season, including a 79-76 overtime win for Seattle U in Edinburg, Texas, on Jan. 20. The teams met in Seattle on Feb. 15, 2018, when the Redhawks ran away with an 85-68 victory. Seattle U went on to earn a historic 20th win with a 77-60 final against the Vaqueros in the first round of the WAC Tournament. The Redhawks swept the home-and-home series in 2016-17 as well, including a 96-84 victory at KeyArena on Jan. 28, 2017 and an 86-77 victory in Edinburg on Feb. 23, 2017.

The Redhawks' statistical numbers have steadily risen during WAC play. In WAC only games, SU ranks 1st in scoring (79.2 ppg), 1st in FG% defense (.405), 1st in 3-pt FG defense (.309), 1st in turnover margin (+5.70), 2nd in FT% (77.2), 2nd in 3-pt FGs (9.0 per game), and 2nd in scoring margin (+6.1). In WAC play, the Redhawks have also seen greater offensive balance as three players average double-figures including Terrell Brown (18.9 ppg), Morgan Means (14.0 ppg) and Riley Grigsby (10.1 ppg), while Mattia Da Campo (8.8 ppg) and Delante Jones are close behind (8.3 ppg).
DISHING HIS WAY INTO THE RECORD BOOK
Terrell Brown dished four assists in the Redhawks last game (Feb. 13 at NMSU), bringing his season total to 122 and counting. The redshirt junior totaled 150 assists during his first season with the program in 2018-19. His current career total of 272 breaks him into the Seattle U all-time top-10 list at No. 10. Sitting in ninth is Mike Cheatham (1990-92) with 285 career assists. The all-time record holder is Dave Anderson (1981-85) with 619.
1,000 POINT CLUB
Morgan Means scored seven points on Nov. 26 versus Western Michigan, giving him exactly 1,000 for his career. Most recently, the senior guard scored 10 points (Feb. 13 at NMSU), bringing his current career total to 1,228. Means is the third Seattle U player to reach the 1,000-point mark in the modern DI era. Aaron Broussard (2009-12) finished his career with 1,271 while Isiah Umipig (2013-15) scored 1,164 career points.
1,000 POINT CLUB PART II
In just his second season with the Redhawks, Terrell Brown is on pace to hit the 1,000 career point marker. The redshirt junior enters Saturday's game at UTRGV with 959 career points. With at least seven games remaining on the season schedule, Brown needs just 41 points to reach the milestone marker. He will follow Morgan Means as just the fourth player in the program's modern-day DI era.
