WAC Release
DENVER – The Seattle U doubles team of senior Alex Chan and Trenton Nield was named as the Western Athletic Conference Doubles Team of the Week for Jan. 20-26, the WAC announced on Tuesday.
Chan and Nield faced the nation's 50th-ranked doubles team on Jan. 24 in their match against Boise State, falling 2-6, before winning their doubles match 6-3 on Jan. 25 against Idaho State's number one doubles team.
"What a team," said Head Coach Joey Barnes. "These two are an exciting duo to watch, coach and be around. They go on the court and do their best no matter what, and are more than willing to be coached and put their skills on the line. This is a well-deserved recognition, and there is a lot more to come from them."
Chan, Nield, and the Redhawks head to Bozeman, Mont., next week to play at Montana State on Feb. 7 at 9:00 a.m. PT.
