Seattle U men's swim team wrapped up its weekend trip on Saturday to the Centennial State on Saturday, winning four individual events, before falling to Air Force, 142-63.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Seattle U men's swim team wrapped up its weekend trip on Saturday to the Centennial State on Saturday, winning four individual events, before falling to Air Force, 142-63.

For the second consecutive day Juan Varela got the Redhawks going, as the sophomore won the 1000-yard freestyle by nearly six seconds, logging a time of 10:07.41.

Freshman Will Corona and seniors Zach Zenteno and Greg Raper also tallied first-place finishes helping the Seattle U cause. 

Corona won the 200 IM in 1:56.13. Zenteno took the 500 freestyle in 4:50.77. Raper meanwhile touched in at 21.42 in the 50 freestyle, before earning a third-place finish in the 100 freestyle, coming in at 47.24.

In team action, the Redhawks book ended their day with a pair of third-place finishes in the 200 medley, 1:35.96, and 200 freestyle relays, 1:28.09.

Seattle U resumes action on Saturday, Jan. 25, when it hosts Simon Fraser in the regular season finale. The Redhawks will try to complete the head-to-head season sweep of SFU at the Redhawk Center, with the slate of events beginning at 11:30 am.
