SEATTLE — Coming off a resounding performance at home last week, Seattle U women's swimming will visit the Centennial State for pair of meets this weekend in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The Redhawks will engage Air Force on Friday at 4 pm Pacific, before facing the Falcons and Northern Colorado on Saturday at 10 am Pacific.
The Redhawks thrived last weekend at home winning 12 of 14 events against Whitworth University. Senior Jayna Van Stone led the way with individual first-place victories in the 200 and 500 freestyle, while anchoring the Seattle U 400 relay team to a first-place finish.
ABOUT THE COMPETITION:
• The Falcons compete in the Mountain West for women's swimming.
• AFA is coming off a pair of dual victories against Incarnate Word at home last weekend.
• AFA got the better of Seattle U in head-to-head action last season in Seattle., before finishing 10th in the MW Championships.
• Air Force is under the direction of Collen Murphy who is in her second season as head coach.
ABOUT THE COMPETITION:
• Northern Colorado is an affiliate member of Western Athletic Conference for swimming.
• This will be the Bears' first meet since competing in the University of Houston's Phill Hansel Invitational, the weekend before Thanksgiving. UNC finished 10th.
• UNC got the better of the Redhawks in dual action last season in Seattle, before finishing third-overall in the WAC Championships.
• The Bears are led by head coach Lisa Ebeling who is in her fourth season with the program.
