ABOUT THE SERIES VS UTRGV
Seattle U and UTRGV, formerly known as Texas Pan American, have 14 previous meetings with the Redhawks holding a 10-4 edge in the series. UTRGV swept the home-and-home series in 2018-19, winning 67-62 in the Redhawk Center on Jan. 12, 2019 and 59-44 in Texas on Feb. 14, 2019. Seattle U earned a three-game sweep during the 2017-18 season, including a 79-76 overtime win for Seattle U in Edinburg, Texas, on Jan. 20. The teams met in Seattle on Feb. 15, 2018, when the Redhawks ran away with an 85-68 victory. Seattle U went on to earn a historic 20th win with a 77-60 final against the Vaqueros in the first round of the WAC Tournament. The Redhawks swept the home-and-home series in 2016-17 as well, including a 96-84 victory at KeyArena on Jan. 28, 2017 and an 86-77 victory in Edinburg on Feb. 23, 2017.

  • Seattle U earned an 83-50 win over Utah Valley on Jan. 11, improving the Redhawks to 9-9 on the season and 2-1 in WAC play.
  • The win marked the second straight WAC win, and the second straight by 30+ points.
  • The Redhawk defense held UVU to just 13 field goals, the fewest field goals allowed by an opponent this season. The mark is five lower than the previous season-low of 18 against Chicago State (Jan. 4).

PROTECT THE ROCK
Seattle U averages a WAC-low 11.4 giveaways per game, which also keeps pace among the nation's best. The Redhawks' mark ranks 27th among all NCAA DI teams.

TERRELL ON A TEAR
Terrell Brown continues to be the Redhawks' hot hand through the 2019-20 season. The redshirt junior leads Seattle U in scoring (19.6 ppg), is second in rebounds (6.7 rpg) and first in assists (4.8 apg). His ppg average also leads the WAC and ranks 34th in the country in games played through Jan. 15. Brown also ranks seventh in the country in total field goals, 13th in total minutes and 16th in total points. He has lead the Redhawks in scoring in 13 of 18 games, has tallied nine 20+ point outings and has a team-high four double-doubles. On Nov. 9 against Eastern Washington, the Seattle native drained a career-high 31 points on 12-28 from the field and 6-9 from the free-throw line. He added 13 rebounds for his first double-double of the season, and sixth of his Seattle U career. He has come within striking distance of a triple-double multiple times, most recently finishing with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists at Chicago State on Jan. 4.

FREE POINTS
Seattle U's free-throw shooting has been a high-mark of the season as the Redhawks are 299-390 from the stripe, hitting at a 76.7 percent clip. That mark is second in the WAC and ranks 23rd in the nation in games played through Jan. 15. They also rank 8th in total makes and 23rd in attempts. The team percentage is a marked improvement from one year ago when the Redhawks finished the season shooting 71.6 percent from the line.

Morgan Means is among the top individual free-throw shooters in the nation, ranking 12th in games played through Jan. 15 with a 91.1 percentage (41-45) from the stripe.

1,000 POINT CLUB
Morgan Means scored seven points on Nov. 26 versus Western Michigan, giving him exactly 1,000 for his career. Most recently, the senior guard scored nine points (Jan. 11 vs. Utah Valley), bringing his current career total to 1,1025. Means is the third Seattle U player to reach the 1,000-point mark in the modern DI era. Aaron Broussard (2009-12) finished his career with 1,271 while Isiah Umipig (2013-15) scored 1,164 career points.
