SEATTLE -
Seattle U men's tennis starts off their 2020 season this week, hoping to continue the success that they found during the fall tournament slate.
 
The season begins on Jan. 11 with a doubleheader against Washington at the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center, with play starting at 2:00 p.m. PT. Next, the team heads to Cheney, Wash., to face Eastern Washington on Jan. 19, followed by a two-day stint in Idaho – first, they will take on Boise State in Eagle, Idaho, on Jan. 24, then play against Idaho State in Boise, Idaho, on Jan. 25.
 
February's slate kicks off in Bozeman, Mont., on Feb. 7 against Montana State, then continues with a matchup against Montana on Feb. 9 in Missoula, Mont. The Redhawks then take on Weber State in a neutral-court match on Feb. 15 at UNLV's campus, followed by a match against UNLV themselves the next day, Feb. 16. Next, Seattle U makes an appearance in Spokane, Wash., to face Gonzaga on Feb. 22. Finally, the month concludes with a trip to the state of Colorado – Seattle U will stop at Colorado Springs, Colo., to play Air Force on Feb. 28, then immediately head to Denver for a showdown with Northern Colorado on Feb. 29.
 
After a few weeks of practice and rest, the Redhawks head to California for their last three non-conference matchups. They begin with UC Riverside in Riverside, Calif., on Mar. 21, then travel to Azusa, Calif., on Mar. 23 to face Azusa Pacific and conclude with a match against UC Irvine on Mar. 25 in Irvine, Calif. Seattle U's WAC schedule begins with a pair of neutral-court matchups in Phoenix against Chicago State on Mar. 27 and Kansas City on Mar. 28, then continues the next month with three games in Chicago – vs. New Mexico State on Apr. 9, UT Rio Grande Valley on Apr. 10 and Grand Canyon on Apr. 11. The WAC Championships begin just under two weeks later in Kansas City, Mo, lasting from Apr. 24-26.
 
During the fall season, the WAC awarded senior Adrian Alvarez-Sanabria and freshman Lars Schmassmann with the honor of the conference's Doubles Players of the Month for November. The pair reached the semifinals at the Gonzaga Fall Invitational, which was decided by a single-point tiebreaker.
