SAN DEIGO, Calif. — A trio of Redhawks highlighted Friday's exhibition meet, as Seattle U swam took on Vanderbilt and San Diego State at the Aztec Aquaplex, wrapping up its winter training session in southern California.
Allison Plamondon placed in the 50-yard freestyle, taking third as she clocked in at 24.77. The race was tightly contested as Plamondon was just a tenth of seconds shy silver and three-tenths off the first-place pace.
Then in the 200 breaststroke, Danika Himes added another third-place finish for the Redhawks notching a time of 2:23.37. This too was a close race as Himes was roughly 1.5-seconds shy of second.
Another notable Redhawk performance on the day belonged to Tessa Oliver in the 200 butterfly. Despite finishing outside the top three in the race, Oliver managed to set a new season-best time for herself as she came in at 2:12.84, trimming .22-seconds of her previous mark.
Following the holiday break, Seattle U will resume regular season action on January 11 when it hosts Whitworth University at the Redhawk Center. Events for that day are slated for begin at 1:00 pm.
