SEATTLE – Seattle University women's basketball rolled to an 89-47 win over Warner Pacific on Saturday afternoon. Eleven different Redhawks scored in the non-conference victory at the Redhawk Center.

"In the first couple minutes, they came out firing and we woke up after that," said Coach Suzy Barcomb. "We got to play a lot of people significant minutes and ease our way back into this post-finals stretch. I think we're coming into our own and I think we'll be hard to guard."

In the runaway win, Courtney Murphy tied her career high with six made three-pointers. SU outrebounded the Knights, 39-30, and held the visitors to 30.6 percent shooting from the floor. The Redhawks' bench put up 40 points in the match.

The visitors grabbed an early 7-3 advantage, but SU (5-6) smashed the pedal after that, quickly pulling away with a 20-0 burst that spilled into the second period. Kamira Sanders hit a three, with Sarah Rahon assisting. Rahon then scored off a Sanders dish and was fouled, converting the free throw. Sanders set up a Courtney Murphy trey and then Sanders made a layup for a 21-12 lead.

A pair of interior buckets by Joana Alves stretched the lead and then Chinwe Ezeonu connected on a putback to make it 27-12 after a quarter.

Sanders began the second frame with a triple to cap the 20-0 run before a Knight hoop. SU didn't stop there, though, continuing to control the action. Makenna Schoenhofer, making her Redhawk Center debut, entered the game and quickly made an impact. She drove from the elbow and scored with 7:34 left in the half. Schoenhofer pulled down a defensive rebound and later assisted on a pair of Georgia Kehoe layups as the lead went to 42-21.

Threes by Carla Bieg and Murphy extended the margin, and after two Knight free throws, Murphy sank another trey as the Redhawks took a 52-26 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Alves made a steal that set up a Sanders breakaway layup. Sanders then assisted on a Murphy triple as SU went up, 57-26. Two Kehoe hoops maintained the Redhawks' margin. Rahon hit a three-ball and Schoenhofer hit a jumper as SU took a 67-34 advantage into the fourth period.

Ezeonu scored first in the fourth quarter, as Sanders set her up for a lay-in. Sanders followed with an assist on a Murphy three, her sixth of the day. Olivia Crawford hit a jumper for a 74-36 lead at the 8:15 mark. Bieg swished a pair of late threes as SU rolled to its third straight win.

Murphy recorded 21 points and five steals, while Sanders notched 16 points, six assists, and three steals. Kehoe added 15 points and six points in 17 minutes off the bench. Bieg made three treys on her way to nine points.

Murphy's six threes mark her second career contest with six triples. She sank six in her SU debut on Jan. 3, 2019, against CSU Bakersfield.

The Redhawks will play at Cal Poly on Friday, Dec. 20. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
