FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — Seattle U women’s swimming closed the Husky Invitational and the 2019 portion of its schedule on Sunday with four qualifying times for the USA Swimming Futures Championships.
Bryn Lasher secured her second qualifying time in the 200-yard Butterfly as she touched in at 2:05.68. Danika HImes meanwhile pushed her Futures total to four on the weekend as she qualified in the 200 Breaststroke as she checked in at 2:19.07.
Allison Plamondon also registered a Futures qualifying mark, her third of the weekend, with a time of 52.04 in the 100 Freestyle during the morning preliminaries. In the evening session, Plamondon clocked in at 1:00.19 during the long course finals.
Audrey Dixon and Alexa Hoeper also had big days posting lifetime-bests. Dixon’s new mark came in the 100 Freestyle as she clocked in at 53.77. Hoeper meanwhile rewrote her own Seattle U record for fourth-best in the 200 Backstroke as she touched in at 2:05.64, before scoring a 2:20.49 in the long course finals
Also qualifying for Futures was the 400 Freestyle Relay quartet of Plamondon, Julia Gorman, Lasher and Jayna Van Stone as they recorded a combined time of 3:32.50. In addition, the outing was the 10th-best all-time performance in program history.
Seattle U resumes action in 2020 when it returns to the Redhawk Center on January 11 as it hosts Whitworth University for senior day.
