SEATTLE --- The Seattle University women’s swim team opens its 2019-20 home schedule against Grand Canyon and Loyola Marymount at the Redhawk Center at 5 pm on Friday. The team will then host the Lopes and Lions on Saturday at 11 am in Federal Way, Wash.
The Redhawks are coming off a dominating performance at the Logger Relays in their season opener last weekend. Seattle U won seven of the nine events en route to a first-place finish, trouncing the field with a 55-point margin.
THE COMPETITION
• Grand Canyon is coming off an eight-place finish at the TYR Fall Classic hosted by Florida International.
• The Lopes are led by head coach Steve Schaffer who’s in his 12th season at the helm.
• GCU finished seventh last season in the WAC Championships.
• Loyola Marymount is coming off a sixth-place overall finish at the Pacific Collegiate Swim & Dive Conference Relays last weekend.
• The Lions are led by Bonnie Adair who’s is her 17th season as head coach.
• LMU finished sixth in last season’s PCSC Championships.
