SEATTLE --- The Seattle University swimming program and head coach Craig Nisgor announced its schedules for the 2019-20 men’s and women’s season, which includes five home meets at the Redhawk Center.
Both teams will open the year on Oct. 12 when they take part in the Logger Relays hosted by the University of Puget Sound.
The Redhawk women will open the home slate when it hosts a triad with Grand Canyon and Loyola Marymount on Oct. 18, while the men’s side go head-to-head with GCU. A day later, the women's team will repeat the triad with GCU and LMU as they move locations to Federal Way, Wash.
The month of November sees both Seattle U outfits travel to the Great White North for dual-meet action with Simon Fraser in Vancouver, Canada, before returning to Puget Sound on Nov. 23. The women’s team meanwhile will make another trip north inbetween as they will go head-to-head with with Alaska-Fairbanks on Nov. 15-16.
The Redhawks will then close the 2019 portion of their season in Federal Way at the Husky Invite on Dec. 6-8.
Following the holiday break, Seattle U resumes dual-meet action on Jan. 11 when it welcomes Whitworth University for the senior meet. Both teams will then visit Colorado Springs as the women battle Air Force and Northern Colorado on Jan. 17, before both Redhawk lineups clash with Air Force a day later.
Seattle U will then close the regular season at the Redhawk Center, beginning with the men’s side on Jan. 25 against Simon Fraser, before the women’s squad cap things off on Feb. 1 against Idaho.
The 2020 WAC Championships will then follow on Feb. 26-29 in Houston, Texas. Following the conference meet, for those Redhawks that qualify, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) National Invitational Championships will be March 12-14 in Cleveland, Ohio. The NCAA Championships meanwhile will be held in Athens, Georgia, for the women March 18-21 and the men's NCAA Championships will be held in Indianapolis, March 25-28.
