DENVER, Colo. — After a stellar opening weekend, the Western Athletic Conference office announced Monday that Seattle U volleyball's Eve Kerschenbaum was named the Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Aug. 25-31. This is first-ever WAC Player of the Week honor for the native of Wellington, Fla.
Kerschenbaum helped the Redhawks to solid 2-1 start in the first weekend of the season as she averaged WAC-bests of 4.91 kills and 5.59 points per set. Kerschenbaum opened the weekend hitting .370 against Southern Miss, registering a 24-kill, 16-dig effort for her first of two double-doubles. She then followed up by registering 21 kills and 10 digs in a victory over San Francisco.
The 24-kill outing by Kerschenbaum shattered her previous career-best of 14 and placed her in a tie with Kaythln Dill, Sarah Jaeckel and Martina Samadan for 10th-best single-match performance.
Kerschenbaum and the Redhawks return to action when they face Holly Young Invitational host, New Hampshire on Thursday, Sept. 5.
