LAKEWOOD, WASH. – Three Redhawks improved on their first-round scores and a new golfer moved to the top of the team standings as Seattle U men’s golf competed in the second round of the Western Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championships on Sunday at the Oakbrook Golf Club. Seattle U now stands in third place at nine over par, while Kansas City leads at a combined even-par.

Sophomore Gabe Spach matched his first-round score by shooting another round of 72, good for a ninth-place tie to lead Seattle U at two-over. Freshman Nathan Cogswell turned things around after a slow first round, shooting a two-under 69 to bring his total up to three over par. Fellow freshman Jack Rahon and junior Zack Overstreet ended up in a tie after the second set of 18, with Rahon adding a round of 72 and Overstreet shooting a 75 to bring them both to four over par. Finally, junior Greg Gionfriddo stayed right on their heels, shooting a plus-two 73 to bring his total up to five-over.

The WAC Men’s Golf Championships conclude on Monday April 29, with the first teams teeing off at 8:00 a.m.
