DENVER – Andie Larkins of Seattle University softball has been named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Pitcher of the Week, for the period ending on April 21. On Saturday, the senior pitched the fifth no-hitter in program history in an 8-0 win over CSU Bakersfield at Logan Field.

Larkins, a native of Tucson, Ariz., tossed her first career no-hit game this weekend, shutting down the `Runners for five innings. She retired the first 14 batters of the day before surrendering a two-out walk in the top of the fifth inning. Larkins then got a groundout to third to end the frame. SU then scored four runs in the bottom half of the inning to close out the contest in five.

Larkins joins Erin Martin and Alyssa Reuble as the only Redhawks to throw no-hitters in program history. Martin pitched two perfect games, along with a no-hitter, while Reuble threw a perfect game two years ago.

This marks Larkins’ fourth career WAC weekly honor. She won the award twice last season and once as a freshman.

Seattle U is 31-14 overall and 10-2 in the WAC, good for first place in the conference standings. It has won seven straight games going into this coming weekend’s key series at Grand Canyon.
