HOUSTON – Seattle University women’s swimming heads to the 2019 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championships this week. The Redhawks will compete with six other teams for medals at the CRWC Natatorium from Feb. 27-Mar. 2 in Houston.

In the 50 freestyle, Allison Plamondon has the 12th-best time among WAC competitors this season. She posted a 23.71 effort on Feb. 2 at the Redhawk Center, claiming the third-best time in program history.

The sophomore ranks 13th in the 100 freestyle. She swam a 51.77 earlier this season. Plamondon is also 19th in the 100 backstroke (58.52), which stands 10th in school history.

In the 100 butterfly, Sherlyn Devadason stands 18th with a 57.54 time, seventh-best in program history, while Maddie Rapp checks in at 20th with a 57.68 performance.

Rapp’s 2:09.15 in the 200 butterfly ranks 17th this season.

Jayna Van Stone’s 2:08.75 in the 200 backstroke is good for 19th in the WAC.

Emily Bakewell has the 20th-best 400 IM showing this season. The sophomore notched a 4:38.47 this season.

Last year, the 200 freestyle relay won bronze and set a new program record. 

The meet opens on Wednesday with the 200 medley relay and the 800 free relay.
