SEATTLE - Seattle University women’s golf has brought in a late addition to the 2018-19 roster in transfer junior Krystal Hu, bringing the number of golfers on the team to eight.
Hu comes to Seattle U from Ashland University in Ohio. A native of Guangzhou, China, she spent her high school years at Wentworth College in Auckland, New Zealand. In the 2017-18 season, she medaled in the Saginaw Valley State University Invitational and the Perry Park Spring Fling, later finishing in the top five at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships. Her performance netted her a spot on the All-GLIAC First Team and allowed her to compete as an individual in the Division II National Championships. Krystal was also one of only 156 of the world’s elite amateurs who qualified for the 2018 USGA Women’s Amateur Championship played at The Golf Club of Tennessee from Aug. 6-12.
“We are beyond excited to add a player of Krystal’s ability to our roster for the 2018-19 season,” stated Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. “She has a ton of experience at the national championship level, and displays a demeanor and attitude that I believe will fit in very nicely with our current roster. We look forward to supporting her golf game, and have no doubt she will be a huge contributor this year.”
The Redhawks open the 2018-19 season at the Couer d’Alene Collegiate Invitational from Sept. 24-25.
