SEATTLE – (Aug. 21) The 2018 fall schedule for Seattle U men’s tennis promises an exciting and fast-paced season, as the Redhawks compete in three tournaments in the span of 30 days. With seven of eight men on the roster returning from last year, the combined experience creates a formidable unit as they seek to establish a strong start before heading into conference play.

Seattle U kicks the season off in Cheney, Wash., for the Eastern Washington Fall Classic (Sept. 21-23) after taking a one-year hiatus from the tournament. In their last appearance in 2016, individuals reached the rounds of 16 in both singles and doubles.

Next, they travel further east to Boise, Idaho, to compete in the Dar Walters Tennis Classic, which spans from Oct. 5-7. Only a few short days pass before the International Tennis Association Regionals in Seattle, where the Redhawks will compete against the top teams in the Northwest over a five-day span (Oct. 11-15).

Head Coach Adam Reeb enters his fourth year with Seattle U. “We’re excited to launch our 2018-19 campaign,” he said. “We look forward to competing in some fun and challenging tournaments before the ITAs to prepare us to do as well as we can in that tournament.”

Last year’s ITA Regionals saw current sophomore Colton Weeldreyer making it to the round of 32 in singles play. Junior Trenton Nield, partnered with Weeldreyer, reached the round of 32 in doubles, along with junior Arshak Ghazaryan and sophomore Emilio Monroy.  Weeldreyer and Ghazaryan both received Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors in the 2017-18 season.
