SEATTLE – Seattle University women’s soccer has announced the signing of Sydney Carr for the 2019 season. The forward will be a junior after playing at Cerritos (Calif.) College this season.
The native of Orange, Calif., recorded 47 goals and 20 assists on an unbeaten Cerritos team that advanced to the third round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs this season. She set a school record for goals and points and led the CCCAA in goals this year.
At UC Irvine, Carr won 2017 Big West Freshman of the Year and was chosen All-Big West Second Team. She has been a member of the U.S. National Team at the U-17 and U-19 levels.
“Sydney is an incredible athlete,” said Seattle U Coach Julie Woodward. “She is fast, skillful, and strong. Her ability to change a game is special and one of her best attributes is her competitiveness. She is extremely fun to watch and we’re thrilled to have her join our program.”
