SEATTLE - The Western Athletic Conference announced on Tuesday that Seattle U's Eli Boudouris has received their Cross Country Male Athlete of the Week award for Oct. 8-14. Boudouris is coming off of a stellar performance with a time of 24:17.5 in the 8k at the Bronco Invitational on Oct. 13, beating his previous record by over 40 seconds. This is the second time this fall that a Redhawk has received the honor - sophomore Nathan Pixler also garnered conference recognition for Sept. 3-9.
"Eli put together one of his best performances ever at Seattle U," said Head Coach Kelly Sullivan. "He's worked very hard on continuing his development that we saw last year. All of us are excited to see where it takes him throughout the rest of the fall and through the upcoming track seasons."
Boudouris and the Redhawks will be back in action at the WAC Championships, hosted at Seattle's Jefferson Park on Oct 27.
