SEATTLE – Seattle University women’s soccer product Stephanie Spiekerman has signed with AS Harima Albion, a professional club in the Kansai League in Japan.

“Our staff is extremely excited for Stephanie and her opportunity to play abroad,” said SU Coach Julie Woodward. “She is such a special, intelligent, technical, and tactical player. I am confident that she will do very well in Japan. We are looking forward to watching her play with her new team.”

Spiekerman will travel to Japan this week and join the team immediately.

Spiekerman concluded a standout career last fall, taking All-WAC First Team honors for a second straight season. She also won Seattle U’s Female Student-Athlete of the Year Award this summer. In her career, Spiekerman was a two-time All-WAC First Team pick, a two-time All-WAC Second Team choice, the 2016 WAC Defensive Player of the Year, and a 2016 United Soccer Coaches All-Region selection. She helped the Redhawks win two WAC Tournament titles and three WAC regular-season crowns.

AS Harima Albion finished seventh in the second division of the Kansai League in 2017.
