- Seattle U kicks off a four-game home stand as Cal Poly visits Championship Field Friday night.
- SU is coming off a 4-2 setback at New Mexico on Aug. 24. Julian Avila-Good and Cody Gibson both scored in the regular-season opener.
- Cal Poly played a scoreless draw at Gonzaga on Monday. Simon Boehme made six saves in goal for the Mustangs.
- The Redhawks were voted favorites in the WAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll, marking the fourth time in the last five years that SU has been chosen to win the league.
- Nathan Aune and Sergio Rivas have been named WAC Preseason Defensive and Offensive Player of the Year, respectively. Aune was a 2017 United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-American and won WAC Defensive Player of the Year. Rivas claimed United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-Region last season.
- Nathan Aune is on the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List. He is one of 32 players on the preseason list for soccer’s most prestigious award.
- Josh Adachi, Nathan Aune, Anthony Ayala, and Sergio Rivas were named All-WAC Preseason. The four seniors all earned All-WAC recognition in 2017.
- Pete Fewing is in his 25th season at Seattle U. He will coach his 500th career game on Sept. 9 against CSUN. With 11 wins, Fewing will pick up his 300th career victory.
