SEATTLE – (Apr. 5) A month-long homestand for Seattle University baseball begins this weekend as the Redhawks host Northern Colorado in a three-game Western Athletic Conference series. Due to expected inclement weather, the Redhawks (16-9, 4-2 WAC) and Bears (18-12, 2-4 WAC) will begin with a doubleheader on Friday at 3:05 p.m. The series will conclude Saturday with a single game at 3:00 p.m. Follow @seattleubase on Twitter for the most up-to-date information regarding any additional schedule changes, as well as in-game updates.

NEWS AND NOTES
- The Redhawks eanred their first series sweep of the season last week with 10-1, 13-1 and 10-0 wins at Chicago State.
- Chase Wells was named WAC Player of the Week for his performance during the series. He collected eight hits, including a triple and a home run, on his way to batting .615 in the three-game series.
- Nick Meservey made his first apperance in just over a year will appear in Saturday's series finale. The junior lefty struck out one and allowed one hit in one inning of work.
- The Redhawks are batting a collective .303, led by freshman Justin Mazzone's .419 average (13-for-31). Sophomore Austin Lively is batting .385 with a team-high 35 hits, cindluing seven doubles and one home run.
- Freshman Jake Cosgrove is batting .354 while ranking third on the team in hits with 28. The rookie also has eight extra-base hits including five doubles, two triples and one home run.
- Dalton Hurd is second on the team with 34 hits, including seven doubles, one triple and four home runs, and leads the way with 27 RBI.
- The Redhawks have 65 total extra-base hits on the year, including 44 doubles, seven triples and 14 home runs. Dalton Hurd has four of those homers while Lucas Denney has three, Curtis Perrin has two and five others have one each.
- Jake Prizina leads the pitching staff with a 3.14 ERA and 3-0 record in seven starts. The junior lefty has a team-high 43 strikeouts to go along with just six walks issued in 43 total innings.
- Dalton Hurd hit his fourth home run of the season on Mar. 24 at New Mexico State, giving him 16 for his career, which makes him the Redhawks' career leader. He passes Josh Kalalau, who hit 15 home runs from 2010-11.
- Zach Wolf was named WAC Pitcher of the Week on March 19. He picked up a trio of saves as the Redhawks went 3-0 against Pacific Northwest opponents. He now has six saves on the season, good enough for second in the WAC statistical standings. He is also 3-0 with a 3.86 ERA in 14 appearances this season.
- The Redhawks were selected fourth in the WAC preseason poll, as voted on by the league's nine head coaches. New Mexico State was selected to finish second, and earned a pair of first-place votes.
